To filter at https://opensciencemethods.org/api/data.php add ?Filtercategory=option (with &Filtercategory2=option2 to add more filters) e.g. https://opensciencemethods.org/api/data.php?type=AQ1&range=last_30d

Filters include:

• type – the sensor type (note: variable header adapts to type). Currently available: AQ1, AQ2
• limit – the total number of records shown per page. Currently available: 100, 1000
• page – the page number of the samples (recommend using with the sample limit filter above). Example: page=2
• range – the date range wanted (from current time). Note that this overrides the date_from field (but not date_to). Currently available: last_1h, last_2h, last_6h, last_12h, last_1d, last_7d, last_30d
• date_from – the earliest point in time data is required from. Note, the range field overrides this. Format example: date_from=2026-04-08
• date_to – the latest point in time data is required from (if left blank, latest data will be taken as now). Format example: date_to=2026-05-08
• sensor – the sensor name given in the app (optional). Note that sensor names require registration (though special character prefixes are openly available, e.g. _sensor1)
• device_id – the unique device ID associated with the logger. Use the “logger” field (logger’s MAC address) to check the ID here
• mac_hmac – WE RECOMMEND USING “device_id” INSTEAD! the encrypted mac address of the sensor. Contact the admin team if you would like your mac address decrypted (or test by adding a note). To enable viewing of mac_hmac, type the query hidden_var=hmac
• output – the required format output. Currently options: csv, table, json, xls [experimental!]
• tz – timezone. This filter will change the output of the created_at field to the required timezone. Note that this is applied after the range, date_from or date_to is updated. Current options: GMT - Europe/London (winter), BST - Europe/London (summer, i.e. GMT+1h), CET - Europe/Paris (winter), CEST - Europe/Paris (summer), EST - America/New_York (winter), EDT - America/New_York (summer)
• asort – sort (ascending) of one of the following options: device_id, created_at . As only one sort is allowed at a time and you require multiple device_ids you will need to filter by device_id first
• dsort – sort (descending) of one of the following options: device_id, created_at . As only one sort is allowed at a time and you require multiple device_ids you will need to filter by device_id first
